Soothing Honey-Lemon Tea

Can I just say that I have been sick for over 6 weeks!? I have started to get better a couple of times but I can't seem to get healthy. I took another bad turn this weekend and I am currently trying to get feeling better… AGAIN! When we were in Berlin a couple of weeks ago I discovered one of my new favorite things. I have gone through so many lemons lately. In the last 24 hours I've used 7 lemons and one lime… and LOTS of honey! If you would have asked me a few weeks ago I would have said that honey is not my favorite flavor. I am now a huge fan of it and it's soothing nature.

I figured I should share what is keeping me going. It's the most simple concoction ever. Honey, Water and Lemon. I like a HUGE serving in my big glass mug so if you are using a normal sized mug, half this recipe.

Honey to taste (I like LOTS at the bottom of my cup before I pour my hot water in.)
1 1/2 cups hot water
Juice of two lemons (Sometimes this is a bit much but it all depends on how much juice is in the lemons.)
Lemon zest if you want a little added zing

Honey is a natural healing property. I am no doctor but I definitely believe it. It is said to have antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It is also supposed to be good for sore throats and coughs, which is why it is my best friend right now.

Lemons are rich in vitamin C and flavonoids that work in conjunction to help fight infection.

There are plenty of health benefits from consuming these two natural foods so this tea just HAS to be good for you! :)

Thank you to Meli Cafe in Berlin for introducing me to this lovely drink. Whether you are sick or you just need a calming, soothing drink for a chilly day, you just might find you love this as your go-to hot drink.

Londyn's birthday weekend was a success and I have some fun things to share on that front but for now  I am going to allow my children some fresh air… the fresh air they have been begging for all day! We're headed outside to play.
